Teledyne Technologies Elects Paul D. Miller to Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES - July 25, 2001 - Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced today the appointment of Paul D. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of Alliant Techsystems (NYSE:ATK) to its board of directors. This step raises to nine the number of board members.

"Admiral Miller is a good fit for Teledyne's board," said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Teledyne Technologies. "His experience and leadership in the defense community will be a tremendous asset for Teledyne as we plan to grow our engineering services to the Department of Defense and NASA."

Admiral Miller, United States Navy (retired), joined ATK in 1999. Previously he headed Litton Marine Systems, a division of Litton Industries, Inc., and served as President of Sperry Marine Inc. Miller joined Litton/Sperry Marine in 1994, following a distinguished career with the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he was Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Atlantic Command and served concurrently as NATO Supreme Allied Commander-Atlantic. Other major duty assignments included Commander, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Commander, U.S. Seventh Fleet, and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Naval Warfare). Miller is also a member of the board of directors of SunTrust Bank (Eastern Region).
