Teledyne Solutions Names DeFatta Vice President

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (November 7, 2005) - Teledyne Solutions, Inc. (TSI) announced today that Richard P. DeFatta has been appointed Vice President of TSI. DeFatta will be assisting Steve Kuffner, President of TSI, in managing the company's support to SMDC, the Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space, the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Program Office, the Missile Defense Agency, and the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command.

A retired Army Colonel, DeFatta was Project Manager for the Army's Cruise Missile Defense Systems Project Office (formerly known as the Short Range Air Defense Project Office) for three years prior to joining Teledyne. In this capacity he had management responsibilities for the development, production, fielding, and sustainment for five of the Army's products providing integrated Air and Missile Defense capability for forward deployed forces. In previous assignments he served as Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, as the Product Manager for the Medium Extended Air Defense System, and as the Director of Kwajalein Missile Range.

A 1978 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, DeFatta subsequently earned a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

DeFatta and his wife Michelle have a son Phillip, 20, and a daughter Lauren 18.
